MOTORCYCLE AND RIDER GEAR REQUIREMENTS

MBGP TECH GUIDELINES

GEAR:

  • SNELL 2010 APPROVED (OR EQUIVALENT) HELMET WITH INTEGRAL CHIN PROTECTION, IN GOOD CONDITION, EITHER FULL FACE OR MX WITH SHATTERPROOF GOGGLES

  • EYE PROTECTION IS MANDATORY

  • RIDING GLOVES

  • MX BOOTS, ROADRACE BOOTS, OR HEAVY DUTY ANKLE LENGTH BOOTS

  • JERSEYS AND PANTS MUST AT LEAST COVER ALL EXPOSED SKIN

  • ELBOW PADS AND KNEE PADS ARE RECOMMENDED BUT NOT MANDATORY

BIKE:

  • CLEAN AND GOOD WORKING CONDITION, NO LEAKS, NO DEBRIS THAT CAN FALL ONTO THE TRACK

  • WORKING KILL SWITCH

  • SELF CLOSING THROTTLE

  • WORKING FRONT AND REAR BRAKES

  • 2 STROKE MOTORCYCLE ENGINES MUST RUN SMOKELESS OIL FOR INDOOR EVENTS

  • ALL CRANKCASE VENTS AND RADIATOR OVERFLOW LINES MUST BE ROUTED INTO A SPILL RESISTANT CATCH CAN FIXED TO THE FRAME. OLD BEER AND SODA CANS WILL NOT PASS INSPECTION. MOTORCYCLES EQUIPPED WITH CRANKCASE VENTS ROUTED TO THE AIRBOX WILL NOT REQUIRE A SEPARATE OIL CATCH CAN PROVIDED THE AIRBOX AND FILTER ARE PROPERLY MAINTAINED

  • CARBURETOR VENT LINES SHOULD BE ROUTED INTO A SEPARATE CATCH CAN TO PREVENT SPILLS IN THE EVENT OF A CRASH

  • OIL DRAIN BOLTS AND FILLER CAPS MUST BE SILICONED OR LOCKWIRED TO ENSURE THEY ARE SEALED

  • STREET OR ROAD RACE TIRES ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED AND MANDATORY FOR ALL RACE COMPETITORS. KNOBBIES ARE PERMITTED TEMPORARILY FOR OPEN PRACTICE ON A CASE TO CASE BASIS

  • FOR RACE EVENTS ONLY: EACH COMPETITOR BIKE MUST HAVE A NUMBER PLATE AFFIXED TO THE FRONT OF THE MACHINE, ABOVE THE FRONT FENDER, WITH THE RIDERS CMA COMPETITION NUMBER CLEARLY VISIBLE. RIDERS TAKING PART IN PRACTICE SESSIONS ARE NOT REQUIRED TO RUN NUMBER PLATES.
